Cherie Matherne was born and raised in Pointe-au-Chien where she lives still with her husband and their three kids. Her husband is a multi-generational commercial fisherman. Growing up she shared a close relationship and bond with her Maternal grandparents and Maternal great-grandmother who only spoke Indian-French, with whom  she credits to passing down Indian-French to her. Cherie graduated with Dean's Honors in May 2024 with her Associates of Science in Criminal Justice. She is currently enrolled at Nicholls State University pursuing her Bachelors of Art in Political Science. She has sat on the Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Taskforce since 2023. This taskforce was started by former Govenor John Bel Edwards under the Human Trafficking Taskforce, then was extended by current Govenor Jeff Landry. Aside from that she is also PACIT's Elections Commissioner. 

Assistant Cultural Heritage & Resiliency Coordinator

Jade Bergeron was born and raised in Pointe-au-Chien. She is a proud member of the Pointe-au-Chien Indian Tribe as well as the Assistant Cultural Heritage & Resiliency Coordinator. She is also the Secretary on the Ecole Pointe-au-Chien school board and the chairperson for the recruitment/community committee. Both her husband and father are year round commercial fisherman and they are raising their children around the same values and traditional ways she learned living down this little bayou. Indian French is her first language and she is instilling that language to her children. She is an advocate for the dying language in PACIT's community and enjoys participating in the Bayou Culture Collaboration.

Dr. Georgie V. Ferguson is a member of the Pointe-Au-Chien Indian Tribe. She is a clinical psychologist and devoted parent who is proud to represent her Tribe as the first Tribal member to earn a Ph.D. Dr. Ferguson currently serves as the Pointe-Au-Chien Indian Tribe’s Public Affairs/Communications Specialist, and manages the Tribe’s Twitter account. She also has a background in Mass Communication, that marries well with her training in Psychology, which she applies to her work for the Tribe as well as when advocating for ethical standards of practice in engaging with Indigenous populations by the community at large. In addition, she is involved in a variety of research projects focused on Indigenous Resilience.
